Growing up in St. Albert, Alberta, I could be found going from point A to B on my skateboard or at the park trying new tricks. As soon as I got my hands on a video camera, I was spending day and night with my friends creating skate videos.

As we get older, we often tend to move away from extreme sports and I was no different. However, when I moved to Kelowna and reconnected with an old friend, we reminisced about our passion for skateboarding and how we lived to push the limits.

Colin wasn’t quite ready to hang up the trucks, and I was eager to get filming so we hit the road to the closest skatepark and started reliving those younger years.

We decided to visit a few different skate parks found in Penticton, Peachland, West Kelowna and Rutland, as each park has something different to offer. Week after week, Colin started to get tighter in his tricks and I was getting more comfortable holding onto a camera while on wheels.

As the summer concluded, I was really impressed with how far Colin was able to push the limits and land some challenging tricks as well as my comfort with filming in a busy environment, while on wheels. I look forward to getting back out there next summer to see what other talent the Okanagan has at the skatepark!
